However, over the past decade or so, there’s been a shift. More and more designers are beginning to embrace size diversity, and there are now many agencies that specialize in representing plus-size models.
While there’s still a long way to go, I feel confident that the fashion industry is moving in the right direction.
How Did Most Plus Size Models Get Started In Modeling?
Some models get their start by being discovered by a modeling agency, but more and more plus size models are getting their start without an agency! That is what is truly remarkable about the times we live in…
Plus size models can build their followings by posting their own modeling images on social media, and they are considered micro-influencers because they have between 2,000 and 50,000 followers.
The models featured in this article started modeling at a young age, and they say that it’s not necessary to become a model to get modeling jobs, and that you can succeed if you’re willing to put in some work yourself.
